As deacon of Security, I work alongside Colleen to make sure volunteers are scheduled every week to cover all areas of security (currently we need 3 volunteers every Sunday to cover the main vestibule and the Vandalia vestibule). We make sure each volunteer is trained in security policies and has passed a background check.
Some of our duties are:
- make sure doors are locked and be available to open them to let people enter
- escorting late arrivals to the back of the sanctuary
- Monitor security cameras
- Monitor the sanctuary and other areas of the church
- Be ready to act in case of issues
